I was kindly lent a Ladies' Aspira Smock and Trousers to trial as I am a member of the Llanberis Mountain Rescue team. Just to keep you up dated:
WINTER USE
I have found both items amazing during the winter months, exceptionally warm and snug when hanging around in the cold on the mountains. Likewise when walking at a pace to get to a casualty the venting systems on both garments are easy to do and work very efficiently.
Aspira Smock
The hood adjusts perfectly resulting in a really good fit.
The length is good, harness fits over very nicely without too much baggy ness.
The general shape and fit of the jacket is flattering to wear.
The pockets are positioned nicely to easy warming of my hands in the cold
Water beads off effortlesly during heavy persistant rain, tested in a 9 hour duration of persistent rain, it outperformed my team mates alternative makes of jackets, a lot of them have now chosen PAramo for the own personal use, not just on rescues.
Ladies' Aspira Trousers
Good length, no excess dragging round the foot area
Snug along the leg, good when wearing crampons
Warm but easy to vent when travelling
Really neat bit to drop seat when one needs a pee on the hill :)
Warm when sitting on belays bringing casualties up Lliwedd on a rainy night
Not too baggy under a harness
Overall lovely bits of kit not at all like wearing waterproofs, none of that crunchy stuff going on :)
