April 2012 NEW TREK & TRAVEL GEAR Páramo Directional Clothing Systems is launching a full range of men’s and ladies’ Summer & Travel garments in April 2012 which offer excellent sun and insect protection, ultra-cooling performance and are both lightweight and easy care. They are engineered for easy and full movement, so are practical summer and warm weather wear for a huge range of activities. Pocketing is carefully thought out so as not to interfere with movement or the fit of the garment, while allowing storage of key holiday essentials. Special attention has been given to styling and to practical travel colour options.

April 2012 New Ladies' Fast & Light waterproofs Páramo Directional Clothing Systems is launching two new ‘fast & light’ garments for women this Spring: Páramo’s lightest ever Analogy Jacket, the Mirada, with very female-friendly styling, and the very versatile waterproof Quito Trousers, now with a specific female fit, which are extremely practical to put on because of their innovative zip on and off deisgn. This greatly extends Páramo’s range for females who want to make every ounce count, whether walking, cycling, trekking, or involved in outdoor events. Both garments combine the perspiration removal of Analogy with fantastic venting and very intelligent features.

March 2012 New Halcon load-carrying Waistcoat Páramo Directional Clothing Systems is launching a new pocketed gilet – the Halcon Waistcoat – which is ideal for all outdoor activities and for travel. With 12 pockets and 2 further ‘compartments’, the Halcon Waistcoat gives plentiful space to organise and transport a range of equipment and keep it easily accessible, while the design ensures that the weight of equipment carried is well distributed to avoid any discomfort. The Parameta® A Cotton+ fabric sets this waistcoat apart – as well as being rugged and durable, it is lightweight and very quick drying.

January 2012 ETHICAL SUSSEX COMPANY WINS AWARD Páramo Directional Clothing Systems, an outdoor clothing company based in Wadhurst, East Sussex that has been producing innovative and ethically manufactured gear for the past 19 years, has been voted the BEST OVERALL WALKING BRAND in the walk magazine Reader Awards 2011. The Awards are voted for by the 120,000 members of the Ramblers’ Association who are encouraged to nominate their most trusted brands in clothing and equipment via their magazine, walk.

December 2011 New Páramo Grid baselayers – superb temperature control! Páramo Directional Clothing Systems have four new ‘Grid’ baselayer designs – two for men and two for women – entering the range early in 2012. Using the completely new ‘fast response’ Parameta G fabric, these high performance baselayers offer excellent temperature control for the wearer in the widest range of conditions. Worn uncovered, the new Grid moves moisture while allowing air to cool the wearer, while worn under a windproof or waterproof it immediately warms the wearer. The result is a very versatile baselayer which performs well and, because of its stretch, feels comfortable for virtually all outdoor activities. The Grid baselayers are being manufactured by Remploy, the ’s leading specialist employer of disabled people, at its Clydebank and Stirling factories.

September 2011 SPRING/ SUMMER 2012 LAUNCHES AT A GLANCE Páramo Directional Clothing Systems have a cavalcade of new launches planned across the activity categories for April 2012 – from our first lightweight ladies’ jacket with very female-friendly styling to new travel shirts and trousers, a new baselayer fabric in technical and classic styles and the Halcon waistcoat for wildlife watchers, travellers and fieldworkers. The array of styles coming into the range is the biggest haul for many seasons from Páramo who, to achieve this, have invested heavily in development and testing of new fabrics, in research and prototyping of new styles, and in highlighting and getting feedback from consumers on new colours and patterns. The resulting additions to the range will appeal to existing Páramo users and open up the brand to new outdoor enthusiasts and professionals.

September 2011 Torres Core and Sleeves The Torres Core + Sleeves – the intelligent ‘Páramo’ way to stay warm and dry Páramo innovation has developed a more practical and versatile solution to outdoor comfort and safety with this September’s launch of the Torres Core overlayer. Overlayering is a simple and better alternative to the more traditional layering approach for adding warmth. The latest addition to the Torres range, the Torres Core, is a lightweight, hooded gilet designed to work systemically with the Torres Sleeves to provide a very versatile and hard-working combination which will keep all outdoor and nature enthusiasts or professionals warm and dry in the coldest, wettest conditions. Synthetic insulation combined with radical design ensures this is a very workable addition to the kit bag which needs to be experienced to be understood and believed.

June 2011 Classic Katmai Shirt Classic Katmai Shirt in new textured Parameta® A fabric – great for English summers! A new ultra-comfortable fabric joins the Parameta® A collection of rapid evaporation fabrics designed for warmer weather and travel. The newest arrival is ideal for the English summer hill walker and the adventurer in temperate regions. April 2011 Nikwax Green Retailer scheme Nikwax places huge importance on respecting the environment and investing in it for the future – it is one of the driving forces behind the company, in business practices as well as company ethos.To further this, Nikwax is using its wide reach across the outdoor industry to launch a new initiative: The Green Retailer scheme. The scheme recognises retailers who consider the environment in running their business and encourages all their retailers to highlight their environmental efforts and achievements, and to think about how they can improve their sustainability in the future.

March 2011 Men's Quito Trousers Innovative and versatile, the new Men’s Quito trousers from Páramo are the perfect addition to any outdoor wardrobe. With a unique and straightforward zip-on/zip-off construction, the Quito trousers weigh only 425g and are extremely packable, giving really practical waterproof legwear. September 2010 Ladies’ Velez Adventure Trousers New garments have joined Páramo’s range of lightweight Analogy waterproofs. The launch of the Men’s Velez Adventure Trousers last year prompted by female outdoor enthusiasts to ask for a ladies’ version – now added to the range. The Vista Jacket launched as a limited edition garment last spring has proved very popular and now ‘officially’ joins the range. With no compromise on Directional performance or protection from the elements, this line-up of high performance kit is ideal for those outdoor enthusiasts and professionals who participate in activities where every ounce is crucial, who want to travel fast and light.

July 2010 Páramo’s NEW Pájaro trousers Páramo have designed new waterproof legwear to complement their Pájaro and Halcon country jackets. The Pájaro trousers provide excellent weatherproofing and warmth, ideal for wildlife watchers and landscape photographers, and also suitable for any outdoor users who are often stationary in cold and wet conditions. With generous cargo pocketing, the Pájaro trousers offer a really comfortable and practical all day alternative to having to carry waterproof overtrousers and struggle to pull them on and off.

July 2010 Páramo scoops Ethical Consumer ‘Best Buy’ award This month Páramo Directional Clothing Systems was awarded the coveted ‘Best Buy’ award from Ethical Consumer magazine within their ‘Fleece’ and ‘Waterproof’ categories – and was the only company receiving this recognition. The magazine which featured a 16-page ‘Outdoor Gear Special’ in their July/ August 2010 issue is an indispensable read for the ethical and green shopper, or any independent thinker. It tells the truth behind the products that outdoor enthusiasts buy and the companies that they buy from, with detailed buyer’s guides, news, in-depth features, opinion and comment.

July 2010 Páramo announces the Páramo Partners Páramo has announced the launch in September 2010 of 20 Páramo Partners stores, who will have access to the entire Páramo warehouse of stock through an online retailer portal. This will offer consumers the chance to benefit from the extensive experience and genuine customer service offered by small, independent retailers, now combined with the opportunity to select from the whole range of Páramo’s award-winning garments. It represents a significant retail development which will expand the choice for the consumer and help retailers augment their offering to their customer base.

July 2010 ANDY ROUSE & PÁRAMO SET TO SUPPORT BRITISH WILDLIFE The Aspira Fund, launched in 2006 by international wildlife photographer, Andy Rouse and Páramo Directional Clothing Systems, has named the three beneficiaries from this year’s donations: - Black Grouse through The Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust - The Glaslyn Ospreys through RSPB Cymru - Little Owls through Emily Joachim’s work as a PhD student at Reading University. All three projects are working to research and improve the survival of bird species in wild environments within the UK that are under threat.

March 2010 Páramo Scoops 3 Walk Awards Páramo Directional Clothing Systems, the innovative Sussex outdoor company based in Wadhurst, has been voted GOLD in three categories, including the BEST OVERALL WALKING BRAND category in the walk magazine Readers Awards 2010. September 2009 ‘Mountain Pro’ scheme Páramo Directional Clothing Systems have worked with Mountain Rescue Teams and outdoor professionals to develop a specialised ‘Mountain Pro’ garment range. This high spec line-up for men and women offers additional benefits for professional users, who place heavy demands on their chosen outdoor clothing. It also enables them to achieve continuity in garment colours and styles over time without having to make a heavy investment in kit. Garments can be ordered in small quantities or even as one-offs for new team members with no price penalty and with confidence that the same garment specification will be supplied. Páramo have already received significant interest in the range, with orders for a number of MR teams and individuals.

August 2009 NEW Halcon Jacket Since the successful introduction of their Pájaro Jacket in 2006, Páramo has been inundated with requests to increase their country range of clothing. Working with outdoor professionals, the Halcon has been developed to give even greater comfort in the outdoors. This deluxe jacket, launched at the August 2009 BirdFair, offers all the advantages of Nikwax Analogy waterproofing, with nine pockets inside and out to cater for the committed wildlife observer and country pursuits enthusiast. For every Halcon Jacket sold, Páramo will donate a sapling to help Trees for Life replant the Caledonian Forest.
